I sit beside the fire and think of all that I have seen, of meadow-flowers and butterflies In summers that have been; Of yellow leaves and gossamer in autumns that there were, with morning mist and silver sun and wind upon my hair. I sit beside the fire and think of how the world will be when winter comes without a spring that I shall ever see. For still there are so many things that I have never seen: in every wood in every spring there is a different green. I sit beside the fire and think of people long ago, and people who will see a world that I shall never know. But all the while I sit and think of times there were before, I listen for returning feet and voices at the door.

My Planned Weekend

Well, I decided to *finally* write on this thing! It's been quite a while since I blogged, so I thought I better get back in the habit of doing so.
I'm really excited for this weekend, because...
I'm a member of my school's Key Club, which is a group of students {who are a branch of Kiwanas International} that do community service. I really enjoy it. So, me and some other members are putting on a Seniors' Prom this Sunday at our local hospital. We're going to have all of the "old" people living in the retirement community to come out for a dance. We've got a band lined up to come and play oldies' music, so they'll be dancing, and then we're going to bring cards and games for the gentlemen whilst the ladies get their fingernails painted, then we're going to have a bingo tournament, and a Twister tournament going on as well. {Just kidding bout the twister :)} Then as they want them, we're going to have refreshments available. We didn't want to have too much food, because they'll be eating dinner at 5, and the prom is from 2 to 4.
So, that's going to be on Sunday, and tomorrow we'll be going and setting up for it, ie: buying and putting up decorations, setting tables up, etc.
And then we're also going to be competing for Oprah's Big Give, which will be VERY exciting!!! I can't wait to get started. To raise money, we're going to partner with our school's student government... I really didn't want to, but we will get more money that way. I guess I can't always have it my way! (There's a joke about that saying... go to http://fromourbunchtoyours.blogspot.com/ for more information on that!)
Well, I better go. Catch ya later!!!

The Red Hat Society

So, today we went to Jim Dandy's for breakfast, because we had a showing at our house in the wee hours of the morn (ie. 9:00 am), and I saw a bunch of members of the Red Hat Society! I just love those gals! They're all so cute when they get dressed up in all their red and purple stuff, with the feathers and the fun-looking outfits they put on. They're just like a bunch of teenagers, except older! Anyway, before we left, I went out to car and got my mama's camera, and asked if I could take a pic. of them to put on my blog. It was soooo adorable! They all got so excited, and they started gathering everyone together, but they made me promise not to use it for black mail. So here they are!

And the lady all the way to the right, standing in the back row... HER NAME IS EDNA!!!!

*COME BACK SOON!!
