I sit beside the fire and think of all that I have seen, of meadow-flowers and butterflies In summers that have been; Of yellow leaves and gossamer in autumns that there were, with morning mist and silver sun and wind upon my hair. I sit beside the fire and think of how the world will be when winter comes without a spring that I shall ever see. For still there are so many things that I have never seen: in every wood in every spring there is a different green. I sit beside the fire and think of people long ago, and people who will see a world that I shall never know. But all the while I sit and think of times there were before, I listen for returning feet and voices at the door.

High School Choir

Ok, so I have some really exciting news today!!! A week ago today I tried out for my high school's choir. Since our school is SO huge, we have 4 choirs. There is: Goldenaires, Milltones, New Dimensions, and Singers. To be quite frank, you don't want to be in Goldenaires or Milltones. Not that there's anything wrong with them necessarily, but Goldenaires is the lowest on the totem pole as far as choir rank goes, and milltones isn't much better. But then there is New Dimensions and Singers. They're both really good choirs that have won tons of competitions and awards. The only difference is that Singers is an integrated choir, and New Dimensions is an all-girl choir, and... I MADE NEW DIMENSIONS!!!!!!! I probably wouldn't have found out today, but since we're in the middle of selling our house, we had a surprise showing, and my dad picked me up from school. Since the doors that I go out of are right next to the performing arts hallway, I thought I'd go and look. I was really scared to find my name, because I really didn't want to find that the vocal teachers thought I should be in Goldenaires or Milltones. And it would've made me really :( But... I was really happy when I found out. Apparently when I came out of the school I had a big grin on my face, because once I told my dad and brother, my dad goes, "I guessed that there was something good that happened, judging from the grin on your face."
So, that's my good news for the day! Whats yours?!
