I sit beside the fire and think of all that I have seen, of meadow-flowers and butterflies In summers that have been; Of yellow leaves and gossamer in autumns that there were, with morning mist and silver sun and wind upon my hair. I sit beside the fire and think of how the world will be when winter comes without a spring that I shall ever see. For still there are so many things that I have never seen: in every wood in every spring there is a different green. I sit beside the fire and think of people long ago, and people who will see a world that I shall never know. But all the while I sit and think of times there were before, I listen for returning feet and voices at the door.

Adventures @ Subway... and not the transportation center

Ok, so this evening, my mom and i went shopping, and then went to visit my grandparents. On our way home (this is at 9:30 pm) we decided that we were going to grab something to eat, because we had skipped dinner. So, my mom decides to be EXTREMELY adventurous and go to Subway. Well, you have to know my mom on this one, because she rarely goes there. She's been there probably a total of 3 times in her life. Her motto is "why pay money for a lunch meat sandwich when you can just grab one at home?!" So, like I said, she's living on the edge here. So we get ready to place our order, and mom says, "I'd like a chicken and bacon wrap, please." The kid says that they're fresh out of bacon. My mom gives me this look as if to say 'this is the reason i never come here.' I tell her to take a few deep breaths, and so to make it easy (on herself, not the guy at the counter) she says she wants a wrap with ham. So, I get my stuff and we get out to the car, and she goes, "This is cold!!! If I wanted a cold sandwich, I could've gotten one at home!!!!!" So at this point, she's not happy. She thinks about turning into McDonalds, but she was kind of frustrated, so she decides to go on. Then once we get back closer to our house, there is another subway on our way, so she decides to stop there and ask them for something *warm*. We pull in, and they're closed! Needless to say, by this time, mom was pretty frustrated. She finally turns into a McDonalds, and she's been talking about their chicken ranch wrap, and so she's got me thinking that she's gonna get one, and still be livin' on the edge, and just as she's about to order her wrap, all life gets sucked out of her, and she orders a big mac. How original! I guess I'm still going to have to limit my Subway to the times when I'm at my nana's house :)

ROFL!!!!!! We too went to Subway tonight...we don't go that often because we just find it awefully expensive for lunchmeat...but on the other hand it is something "different." The one we went to was out of cucumbers and several othr veggies. ARG! not good for someone who likes the VEGGIE sandwich lol
